ABOUT THIS CHURCH
A number of features from the c12 church remain at Ottringham, including two corbels above the north arcade and the capitals of the tower arch c1125 and zigzag ornament. A fine c1300 piscina can be found in the east bay on the south side which was once a transeptal chapel. The tower is Decorated and contains a window with reticulated tracery as does the south aisle window. In the c15 the north aisle was widened and the clerestory added. Also from the c15 is the fine king post roof with carved bosses depicting figures, grotesques etc. The c18 and early c19 box pews survive with butterfly hinges.
